DESCRIPTION:PAOLO CARRUS ORCHESTRA CIVICA \nLa Big Band\, nata nell’ambito del corso di musica d’insieme tenuto da Paolo Carrus\, attualmente ha sede\npresso la Scuola civica di San Sperate. La band ha lo scopo di far rivivere l’esperienza dell’ensemble quale\nluogo ideale per la diffusione del jazz orchestrale e di crescita attraverso la compresenza di musicisti di\ndiversa estrazione.\nLa big band si è caratterizzata per la particolare disponibilità ad aderire a varie iniziative culturali con grande\npartecipazione emotiva\, dovuta al grande affiatamento dei componenti.\nL’ensemble ha svolto una lunga attività: dal primo concerto a Cagliari il 25 aprile 2002\, la band si è esibita\nnel quadro di prestigiose rassegne internazionali\, fra le quali Cala Gonone Jazz\, la rassegna del Palazzo Civico\ndi Cagliari\, il Seminario Nuoro jazz. Nel 2005 nel corso del Festival di S’Anna Arresi la big band ha avuto come\nospite il grande musicista Pat Metheny. Nel 2011 la band ha partecipato al Festival internazionale Jazz Expò\nreinterpretando alcuni brani di un musicista molto significativo per l’evoluzione del jazz in Italia: il chitarrista\nFranco Cerri.
